This week’s Haiku Monday features images taken from our visit to Sushi Den’s private garden and eco-friendly greenhouse in Brighton, CO. We visited for an amazing picnic hosted by the restaurant. I love clouds and skies as they remind me of being someplace spiritual and untouchable. (All photos taken with the iPhone 4)
wrinkles in the sheets
lying next to the only thing
that makes my heart beat
they steered clear of his lines when
they smelled old whiskey
for the spirit to find him
he went seeking it
her new dress chosen so
carefully: soiled
envious and enraged he
drove to her home drunk
with things that provide healthy
happy things that thrive
is how he sees potential
joyous and loving
in the middle left of this shot
is fucking awesome

I agree, i love clouds, sunny, gloomy, rainy, blue skies, all of the skies.
thanks for the comment! cheers to you
The photos are absolutely stunning!!
thank you! Clouds are pillows of happy
Some very impressive photography Michael. Clouds are one of the few things which allow us to stand still as they do all the work for us. The showy bastards…
While I don’t, in any way, pretend to be even the least poetic, I do appreciate those who are, just as I appreciate much of what I don’t understand.
this was actually quite poetic Alex so I think there is some poet in there somewhere
Simply lovely.
thank you AM! It was good day
You have a sharp eye
For clouds sailing the blue, or
A pimp camera.
I do have a pimp camera, but in this case it was just the iPhone
Thanks for the cool Haiku
Beautiful shots and words Michael! I must have been in the mountains and missed these great formations!
well, they were in Brighton in early August
It’s hard to describe how beautiful images and thought provoking prose makes me feel. It’s like something primordial within me stirs and I feel a slight squeeze in my chest. That’s how this post makes me feel… alive
I am blushing! Thank you..seeing the images made me feel just that way
thank you Lori, me too!
Today, I am really missing Colorado…*sigh*
come on back!
LOL!
Trouble is I like Australia too much.
But I am thinking I need to bring the husband to Colorado on our next trip to the US. I lived there 18 years and haven’t shown him the place yet.
Cheers,
Laura
I love that piece about the wrinkled sheets. Delicious.
inspired for sure
it looks like sheets to me
“the fish knew him well/they steered clear of his lines when/they smelled old whiskey”
Now this is what I like to read. It’s good. It’s how words should be strung together.
just read Old Man and the Sea..inspiring stuff
I’m glad to have found your site. I like your haiku and your cloud photos. Thanks for sharing.
thank you for finding me. I hope you enjoy the work we do over here
Dude I love the first and last picture. Truly awesome. Nice haiku too. I don’t know if I can write one of those. They are always tough for me.
I am confident you could do it Guat! Give me one right here
You did a terrific job catching the racing clouds. ( and the verses get a star, too)
Thank you! They were honestly not moving so much as they were forming and breaking into these radical patterns. One of the good days
Nice HAIKU & AWESOME clouds!
thank you very much
