Point Reyes Images is a series of shots from my recent exploration of one of the most remote and beautiful parts of the Pacific coast of California. Today’s image is McClure’s Beach just below Tomales Point (yesterday’s image). I have a fondness for the patterns in the sand made by the surf and tides. This lovely dusk reflection of the sandy promontory in the background adds a lovely yin to the yang of ripples in the foreground, The surf in the distance seems so inviting but is alas quite chilly and inhospitable.
Tomorrow’s Point Reyes image is a hidden beach and perhaps even more uninviting….

Beautiful! Thank you much for sharing:)
thank you for liking
cheers!
Awesome pics!
thank you! we have been out shooting for sure
The soft contrast of light, shadow and reflection is wonderful here.
As you say, I had to remind myself that the scene only looks warm!
this one fell in my lap. It was a free throw and if I had messed it up I would not have forgiven myself
Thank you!
You caught the moment! And what a catch it was! YES!
hey, tell me which of your recent images you want me to view and what were you trying to do that you did not like the result?
All of them on my last post! I think my camera is not set for a high enough resolution or something. Either that or I am doing too much processing. I may need to send you a couple of original photos.
Thanks!
if you are using your SLR camera make sure your files are set to RAW and if you are using your phone make sure you have them all set to the highest resolution possible. feel free to email me anything and I will check it out
Thanks, Michael. I have never shot in RAW before. Will try.
it is essential for getting the maximum detail into the file allowing for the most processing. I had not shot in RAW before either and got 2 lectures in 2012. Now I have about 30,000 jpg images that I wish were RAW
WOW. I really do appreciate your help. If I get flummoxed, I’ll holler.
you may also call me anytime GW. I will always take your call
I’ve felt that the frustration of this problem. I believe that just about every photographer out there probably has his/her first several thousand images in jpg. And we all kick ourselves for it.
lol
agreed
Beautiful:)
thank you. it is a wondrous place indeed
